Getting So Big!

We took Bryson to his 1 year check-up, and he received 4 shots. They wanted to give him 6, but I said no I can't do that to him. So he received 3 sticks (one shot had two different doses in it so 4 total), and he will get 2 more at 15 months. The nurse gave us the paperwork to sign and told us he was getting the MMR, Chicken pox, and I can't remember the name of the other two. And, then he said, "with the MMR shot don't be surprised if he runs a fever for 7-14 days, and with the Chicken Pox 1 out of 10 can get chicken pox within 7-14 days after the shot." I am sorry are you saying I am going to have to deal with a very cranky baby getting shots and then he may run a fever for up to two weeks and then after that he could get chicken pox - what the crap? I made Brian sign the papers because if anything happened I could totally blame him for authorizing the shots! j/k :) Luckily, he only ran a fever that night and a little the next day, but after that he was fine!

He is now 32 1/4 inches long, which means in less than three weeks he grew 3/4 of an inch. He weighs 22 lbs, so he is able to turn around in the car seat. We are not able to tell if he really likes it yet, but he does get cooled off a lot faster!

He can now not only raise up his shirt to find his belly and rub his head when you ask him where his hair is, but he now knows where his nose is. Also, he knows where "little Bryson" is located. He totally looks like he is doing the Micheal Jackson move when you ask him where it is - I don't think it is as funny as Brian does.

He has also learned what a clock says, and every time he hears one he will say "tick, tock, tick, tock." His grandma Earp asked him yesterday what a kangaroo does and he started "baby hopping" - you know where his body goes up and down, but his feet never leave the ground! :)

He has these little ducks that he takes a bath with, which tell you if the water is too hot, and he will point to them and say, "duck, duck." And, then I will ask what a duck says and he will say, "ack, ack."

He is just learning more and more every day - it amazes me how much babies pick up!
