OKC Trip

A few weeks ago my work sent me to OKC for a few days, and Brian happened to be off so him, my mom, and Bryson came up and stayed with me in OKC. We had so much fun, except while I was doing the work stuff! :) But they were out shopping and driving around while I was working. We ate at some really good restaurants too! There was this place called Kona Ranch, and oh my word I could live off of their bread and butter! They make their own butter and it was so delicious. My husband has this bread/roll fetish (just ask my family-we literally count how many rolls he eats during dinner), and I think he asked for a refill on the bread at least three times. These were not small loaves either. We even took the left over bread back to the hotel with us.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites near the airport. One night when we were coming back from dinner Brian parked the car like a mile away from the hotel. I had just stepped out of the car to get Bryson out of the back seat when a beat-up car pulled up behind us blocking us in, and this man was hanging out of the window saying "excuse me ma'am." I stopped dead in my tracks scared. Then a car pulls behind him, and they pull up a little and the man gets out and starts walking towards us. My mom (with Bryson) sprints towards the hotel leaving Brian and I standing there. My heart was beating so fast I thought it was going to come out of my chest. He then tells us his story and how his wife and him need gas money to get back to Tulsa. Well, for those of you that know us we never carry cash, so Brian told him no and the guy just stands there. Finally we just walked away leaving him standing there, and later I had Brian go out to the car and check to make sure our tires were not slashed. I was just terrified - I mean I watch CSI I know what kinds of things happen.

On a much lighter note, the OKC Zoo was having $.75 day. We all got into the zoo for $2.25, and all drinks and hot dogs were $.75. There were not a lot of animals out, but we had fun seeing the ones that were hanging around in the sun. Bryson really enjoyed walking around and looking at all the sights. His favorite thing to do was climb up on all the animal statues - we really could not get him down.

I think we all enjoyed this little squirrel more than anything. It followed us around for a while, so Brian decided to feed him some of Bryson's snacks. I have a video below of Brian feeding him.

The lions were out and Bryson just cracked me up. He started roaring at the lions. We did not even coax him to do it, but after he started we could not help but encourage him. Sorry for the background noise. Right as I was filming a plane flew by, but you can still hear Bryson's "mighty" roar! :)
